Seeing Through His Eyes chapter 1 Introduction

This takes place around when Team Seven was formed.

Seeing through his eyes Chapter 1: Naruto's frustration, Sakura's revelation.

It was a typical day in konoha, there were no threats to take care of,  no appending doom heading the young rookies, they had recently graduated the academy and had gotten a new teacher Kakashi Hatake. He had a habit of showing up late and sneaking up on them in the worst possible time, even Sasuke the rookie of the year could not predict when the jounin would show up. 

Naruto sat down near the bridge on the ground, looking down at the rushing water bored out of his mind, he would ask the Uchiha to spar but his crush Sakura will probably hit him for attacking Sasuke. He did not get why she liked him so much, all he does is standing there like a statue not saying a word to Sakura or himself. What does Sasuke have that I don’t?

 Sakura was just watching Sasuke when she looked at the bored looking Blondie across from her sitting on the ground Indian style looking down at the rushing water and playing with a twig he found on the ground, Sakura smiled and shook her head with mild amusement.

As much as she liked Sasuke she always found Naruto to be interesting. He knew all about her, but she hardly knew anything about him, what was underneath that loud mouth trouble maker? Before she could figure it out they were interrupted by their sensei appearing in a cloud of smoke flipping through his book Sakura frowned and rolled her eyes typical.

“Hello guys good morning sorry I am late I just had to fill out some paperwork to make our team official “. He said dryly he smiled behind his mask when he noticed how bored Naruto looked.

He understood Naruto was different than Sasuke and Sakura he was constantly moving jumping from one place to another. So, the fact he was not bouncing off the walls like he usually was worried the young jounin as he looked down at his student.

Sasuke rolled his eyes and said “

“Yeah right you expect us to believe that”?

Kakashi smiled through his mask and said, “I know I have not been truthful towards you three but creating a new team takes a lot of paperwork you could always ask the hokage if you have any doubts”.

Sasuke snorted and said “I guess”.

Sakura blushed and said “Sasuke you’re so cool!”

Naruto frowned and thought Why it is always about Sasuke what does Sasuke have that I don’t? before putting his hands behind his head and putting on a fake smile ,to keep his team from worrying about him. This did not go unnoticed by the copy ninja, he knew Naruto was smarter than he led on.

He had to be having gone through some of the old prank reports, he discovered that Naruto’s pranks were quite elaborate and could have been seen as impressive trapping skills, He always knew Naruto always hid his insecurities and pain from the world. He did not want anyone to worry much like a old teammate of his  He really does remind me of you

“Sensei hello did you hear what I said”?! Naruto asked loudly making Kakashi winch at the volume but respectfully turned towards the orange clad boy and then said,

 “I must have dozed off can you repeat that?”

“I asked are there any missions available today or are we going to train again?” Naruto asked impatiently

Kakashi smiled and said, “ You kids are anxious to work huh? I do not know if there are any missions available. But, I will check later in the meantime your mission today is to find out more about each other when you are in a squad it is essential you know everyone’s strengths and weakness”.

Sasuke frowned and said “Why do we need to do that for didn't we already learn enough about each other”?

Sakura nodded and said “Yeah sensei! shouldn't we be helping out people and protecting the village”.

 Naruto frowned and said, "This is stupid, we should be going on missions not playing stupid getting to you games". crumpled under his breath

The harsh tone did not go unnoticed by Sakura, who was taken back by the boy's unusual behavior this was not the Naruto they knew, Sakura may not know Naruto all that much but she did know that this was not how he usually acts.

"Naruto, are you okay what's wrong"? Sakura said as she looked over at the boy her long pink hair blowing in the wind, as her emerald green eyes stared into Naruto's crystal blue orbs.

"It's nothing" He said sadly

"Yeah right, Naruto I'm tired of you, always trying to get ways to seek attention so that I don't have to look at Sasuke all day! you are nothing but a troublemaker I do not understand stand you and I Am not sure I ever want to". 

"Shut-up Sakura-Chan, you always act like you know what everyone is like and that all that matters is you and Sasuke, open your eyes Sasuke does not give a damn about you or anyone else ,the only thing he cares about is avenging his family. Even if he did care, he would probably never like you as much as I do". Naruto yelled back his fist clenched with anger as tears escaped from his eyes.

Naruto knew that it was uncalled for he knew that he was better then this. He swore he would never hurt her, that he would put her happiness first. But, it was time she learned the truth even if she did not believe him at least he warned her. 

"Oh yeah, how would you know that Naruto you are always busy pranking people then training and doing what you are supposed to!" Sakura snapped back 

"And how much training have you done Sakura Chan"? Naruto asked  

Sakura gasped and frowned as she looked down at the ground.

"He's got you there, what are you going to say you can't just let him talk to you like that?!".

"He's right though Inner, how am I to talk I always criticize Naruto thinking I know so much better but that is not true I Am such a hypocrite" 

Inner Sakura sighed and said,

"Sakura, you want to know why Naruto is acting like this the evidence is right in front of you".

"I do not understand" Sakura said 

"Look at him Sakura,I mean really look at him and you will find your answer Sakura". Inner Sakura said wisely as she vanished into another corner of Sakura's mind.

When Sakura snapped back into reality her senses were heightened she could smell the wind, she could hear Sasuke and her sensei's steady heartbeats.

But the one that stood out above the others was beating rapidly as she glanced over at Naruto his cheeks were bright red and he was sweating heavily Sakura watched as Naruto looked over at her nervously and said,

"I'm sorry Sakura -Chan please do not kill me I was just in a bad mood because the villagers raided my apartment again".

Sakura had to bite her lip from letting out a small giggle, Sasuke is the only one that should be able to hear her real laugh not Naruto. Sakura had two laughs, she had her fake laugh that she used when her classmates and friends were around, then she had her real laugh unlike her fake one her real laugh was warm and bubbly. 

Back when she was friends with Ino she used to laugh all the time, but after their rivalry started people starting  bullying her again because Ino was not around, Sakura started to create the perfect fake laugh she would practice it in front of the mirror everyday.

After three years of hiding the pain, she had become an expert at faking a laugh. But, people could still see through her fake smile no matter how hard she faked it people were always able to see through it even Naruto. 

Who was dense when it came to school but smart ,when came to experience on pain, and comfort. Sakura wondered if all the things Naruto said to convince people to be strong, were the same words that Naruto would repeat to himself in front of a mirror in his small apartment when he was younger.

Sakura frowned sadly and knew it was probably true, Naruto had went through a lot more pain than they did .All Sakura wanted to do was comfort him, why is it everytime i try to help him I always end up hurting him instead i am a terrible person.  

" I'm not gonna hit you Baka, I'm sorry for what I said, you are not just a troublemaker I just could not accept the fact that you may be right, maybe that is all he cares about,But I was too stubborn to care about how you felt."

"No, I Am the one who should apologize Sakura, I am sorry about what I said about your training habits, I should understand you better then anyone else, I mean I may not have done with  at the tests or read the textbooks; but I also struggled with training at first, so I had no right to say that to you Sakura you are not useless you have helped me a lot more than you think".
